So apart from the odd experience on our first night in Hoi An (described thoroughly in this post), it was a great place to be! We spent a day on a bicycle tour exploring the Hoi An countryside. We met locals making rice noodles, fed cows, visited ship-making yards and wound our way through rice fields.
For those travelling to Hoi An, restaurants I would recommend are: White Sails (for dinner - get the White Rose), Hi Restaurant (good cheap lunch) & Reaching Out Tea House (tea & biscuit tasting plate pictured above - also 'visual aid' blocks as all the staff are deaf). Also we stayed at the Vinh Hung Emerald which was super lovely (great pool and buffet breakfast)!
